   - Residential concept

Project

This concept was created by myself and two other students in which we were tasked to transform a rundown Queenslander. With features such as; long sweeping hallways from the front to the back of the property will maximise breeze flow. A large open plan living space with the kitchen, butlers pantry, dining and seating areas greet you as you walk down the hall into the home. Indoor and outdoor living spaces will blend seamlessly to maximise Queensland’s warm, sunny climate. A wine rack wall that is exposed by glass elevates the property further, and it can be discretely accessed within the butler's pantry. Finally, a beautiful statement staircase with a void and floor to ceiling window tie the entire space together.

Moodboard

Paying homage to the original character of the old house, we were careful to keep some of the features of the traditional Queenslander style, including VJ walls and breezeway, and blend that with a slightly modern, contemporary Hampton’s touch.
